Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Accounts & Finance to lead and oversee all financial operations within our EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects in Saudi Arabia and UAE. The role requires a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, audit, and team leadership, along with a solid understanding of EPC project finances. The successful candidate will bring advanced knowledge of financial analysis, compliance, and project-based accounting to ensure the company’s financial health and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting & Analysis

   • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
   • Conduct ratio analysis, variance analysis, and other key financial metrics to evaluate project and overall financial performance.
   • Regularly review and update financial reporting processes to align with international and project-specific standards.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

   • Lead the budgeting process, including preparation, monitoring, and reporting on budget adherence for EPC projects.
   • Analyze budget variances and provide corrective action plans to improve financial performance.
   • Work with project managers and department heads to forecast financial needs and project cash flows.

3. Taxation & Compliance

   • Manage all tax-related matters, including advance tax calculations, working with tax advisors on tax filings, and ensuring compliance with local tax regulations in Saudi Arabia and UAE.
   • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting standards affecting EPC projects.

4. Audit Management (Internal & External)

   • Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring all financial statements and records meet regulatory and company standards.
   • Collaborate with auditors, address audit queries, and implement recommendations to strengthen financial controls.
   • Ensure the integrity of financial data through regular internal reviews and reconciliations.

5. Balance Sheet & General Ledger Management

   • Prepare, review, and manage balance sheet reconciliations and analyze general ledger movements.
   • Ensure all account balances are accurately reported, monitored, and verified periodically.
   • Analyze key accounts, oversee accruals, and perform monthly and quarterly closing processes.

6. Management Information System (MIS)

   • Develop, maintain, and enhance the financial MIS, providing actionable insights to senior management.
   • Prepare MIS reports, track key financial metrics, and provide financial data to support decision-making.
   • Ensure data accuracy and timely reporting across all MIS functions.

7. Team Leadership & Development

   • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance and accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture.
   • Conduct regular performance evaluations, identify skill gaps, and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities.
   • Ensure a well-organized financial department that meets reporting deadlines and compliance requirements.

8. General Ledger Movement Analysis

   • Conduct comprehensive analysis of general ledger accounts, identifying anomalies, variances, and areas for improvement.
   • Work closely with accounting teams to ensure ledger integrity and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Key Requirements:

• Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
• Experience: 9-15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, preferably within the EPC project industry.
• Industry Exposure: Must have experience in EPC project finance, with knowledge of project-based accounting, cost allocation, and capital expenditure reporting.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of budgeting, taxation, balance sheet preparation, MIS, ratio analysis, and audit processes.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
• Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading finance teams and overseeing multiple finance functions.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with senior management, project teams, and external stakeholders.
