Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Experience:

   • Possess a minimum of 10-15 years of proven experience in procurement, with specific expertise in the steel industry.
   • Previous role as a Purchase Head in a manufacturing company in Africa is essential.

2. Negotiation Skills:

   • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and conditions with suppliers.

3. Team Management:

   • Capable of effectively leading and managing a team of 3 to 5 professionals in the procurement department.

4. Material Planning:

   • Develop and implement strategic plans for material requirements, aligning them with the production needs of the steel plant.

5. Language Proficiency:

   • Proficient in both written and spoken French to effectively communicate with local stakeholders and enhance business operations.

6. Vendor Management:

   • Oversee the procurement of scrap, local consumables, and spares, ensuring a consistent and cost-effective supply chain.

Key Competencies:

• Strategic Thinking: Ability to devise and implement strategic plans for material procurement aligned with production goals.

• Multilingual Skills: Proficiency in French, enabling effective communication and collaboration in the local business environment.

• Team Leadership: Proven leadership skills to manage and motivate a team of 3 to 5 procurement professionals.

• Negotiation Acumen: Strong negotiation skills to secure advantageous terms with suppliers and optimize procurement costs.
