- Who is an Ideal Candidate?: An LL.B degree holder with at least 3 years of experience in legal practice, preferably in telecom, real estate, or infrastructure. Strong knowledge of relevant laws, excellent communication skills, and efficient handling of litigation and statutory compliance.
Job Purpose:
Analyze, Handle, Advise, Implement appropriate actions for effective litigation management and statutory compliances to mitigate risks and achieve organizational objectives.
Organizational Chart:
Reports to Circle Legal Head
Principal Accountabilities:
- Lease Registration: Coordinating with Acquisition vendors and Panel Advocate.
- Efficient Handling of Litigation: Compilation of relevant data and materials, diligent follow-up of cases till disposal.
- Clear Title for Site Acquisition: Coordination with Panel Advocate for DDR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Thorough checking of property papers and documents before clearance of Lease Agreement.
- Municipal Clearance: Supporting acquisition & deployment function in applying for municipal clearance for new sites.
- Vendor Compliance: Coordinating with Administrative & SCM Departments to ensure vendor compliance of labor laws.
- DMS Updating: Ensuring loading of all Lease Documents into the DMS portal.
- Key Decisions: Lease Deed/Site Agreement Registration, MS uploading of all site agreements, Resolution of Landlord issues.
- Dimensions: Financial dimensions: No financial rights, People dimensions: One-off role reportee, Other dimensions: Interaction with Landlords, Statutory authorities.
- Interactions: Internal interactions with Acquisition team, External interactions with Govt Authorities, regulatory bodies, OPPO team, Panel Counsels, Site acq vendors, Landlord.
- Major Challenges: Synchronization of business needs with applicable laws, providing resolution on an immediate basis, interaction with local pressure groups and enforcement bodies.
- Skills & Knowledge: Minimum Educational Qualifications: LL.B, Knowledge: Civil procedure code, Cr.P C, IPC, Indian Evidence act, Company Laws, Indian Stamp Act, Land revenue Act, etc., Skills: Drafting and vetting of contracts, agreements, communication, MIS, Written Statement/Counter claims, Relevant Experience: At least 3 years of experience in practice in courts, law firms, or reputed corporate companies.
- Future Changes: Understanding telecom industry-related laws, relevant laws with analytical skill.
- Typical Day/Week: Scrutiny of documents for new sites, due diligence of property documents, registration/renewals of lease deeds, preparation/updating Legal Tracker, updating/review of legal cases/MAPA reports, resolution of Estate Issue, responding to notices from landlords/authorities.
